I was just reading about teh history of wheeled luggage - can you beleive it wasn't really a thing until the 1970s? Before that, porters where much more common, or people just hauled everything themselves. It's crazy to think about navigating airports, not to mention train stations and city streets, with heavy bags and no wheels.

Apparently, there were some earlier patents and ideas for wheeled suitcases, but they never really took off. The invention commonly attributed to Bernard Sadow involved attaching four casters to a suitcase, and while clunky,it paved the way. It really changed the game for travel practicality.

Makes you wonder what future innovations we'll take for granted. What advancements do you think will drastically change how we travel in the next few decades? Maybe self-packing suitcases, or even lighter materials that substantially reduce the overall weight?
