Hear me out: I think StyleSynthesis, as a field, is too often obsessed with replicating styles perfectly, even when it results in impractical or cumbersome outcomes. While the artistic merit is undeniable, I'd argue we should prioritize functionality more. Such as, perfectly mimicking the style of a 19th-century hand-lettered document might look fantastic, but if the resulting styled digital text is then entirely unreadable at normal font sizes, or completely impossible to edit, is it actually useful?

I believe the focus needs to shift towards adaptable styles that enhance usability and accessibility. Think about a style that evokes art deco, but is optimized for screen reading and legibility. Or a "handwritten" style that maintains clear letter spacing and kerning.

essentially, I'm suggesting we trade some degree of stylistic purity for practical submission. What do you all think? Is this a valid criticism, or am I missing something vital about the current goals of StyleSynthesis research?
