Hear me out. I think modular gear systems, while initially appealing for their customization, can actually be a trap. We're sold this idea of future-proofing and adaptability, but it frequently enough leads to overspending and a kit that's less efficient than a purpose-built one.

Think about it: we buy the base, then various attachments, all marketed as "must-haves." Before you know it,you've spent way more than you woudl have on a dedicated piece of equipment that performs the same function, maybe even better. Plus, all those extra parts add weight and bulk. Rather of streamlining your setup, you're lugging around options you might not even use.

I'm not saying modularity is always bad, but I think it's crucial to realistically assess your needs and resist the urge to buy every add-on.Sometimes, a simple, well-designed tool beats a Frankensteinian modular system any day. anyone else feel this way?
