Seriously,bike lanes constantly being blocked by parked cars is infuriating. It completely defeats the purpose of having them and forces cyclists back into traffic, which is hazardous for everyone. I saw a delivery truck completely blocking a bike lane today,forcing me to swerve into oncoming traffic just to get around it.
So, what are the actual solutions to this problem? Is it more enforcement? Better signage? More protected bike lanes that are physically separated from the road? I'm curious to hear what's worked (or hasn't worked) in other cities. Maybe more realistic loading zones for deliveries would help? Or are we just perpetually stuck with this issue? What are your thoughts? Let's brainstorm some ideas (or just vent about how annoying this is, I'm okay with that too).
