I need to vent about sellers mislabeling toys! It’s happened to me twice now and it’s infuriating. I recently bought what was advertised as a vintage "mint condition" action figure still in it's original packaging, only to receive a heavily damaged figure with a resealed box. The figure itself had obvious paint chipping and a broken arm.
This isn't just about being a disappointed buyer; it's about deceptive practices. I understand that "mint condition" can be subjective, but blatant disregard for the actual condition feels predatory. It gets worse when you consider these toys can be investment pieces or hold sentimental value for collectors. A mislabeled rare Star Wars figure can be heartbreaking for a serious collector. I meticulously checked photos but some damage was hidden.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of blatant misrepresentation when buying toys online? What recourse did you take? I'm wondering if reporting these sellers actually does anything or if I'm just shouting into the void. What steps do you take now to avoid these situations?
