Seriously, what is it with airlines and luggage handles? I swear, every time I fly, I'm practically guaranteed to find my suitcase handle cracked, bent, or completely detached upon arrival. I'm not talking about cheap suitcases either; I've had it happen to decent mid-range bags. I've even started reinforcing them with extra tape before checking them in, but it's a losing battle.
Is it just me, or does anyone else experience this consistently? I'm starting to wonder if it's the baggage handling systems themselves that are the issue, or maybe the way they're stacked in the cargo hold. It truly seems like the handles are notably vulnerable to being crushed.I'm half tempted to start investing in handle-less luggage,but then how would I even pull it through the airport?!
Anyone have any tips for protecting suitcase handles,or even better,any insight into WHY this keeps happening? Maybe someone who works in baggage handling can shed some light on the process? I’m tired of replacing luggage every year.
