I'm debating whether to get luggage with a built-in scale or just stick with my trusty handheld luggage scale. On one hand, the built-in sounds incredibly convenient – pack, weigh, done.No fumbling with straps or awkward lifting. But are they accurate? I've read some reviews suggesting the scales can be off, especially after the luggage has been knocked around a bit during travel.
Then there's the matter of battery life. If the battery dies mid-trip, the built-in scale is useless. A regular luggage scale is cheap, lightweight, and generally reliable, plus you don't have to worry about batteries (especially the analog ones).
Has anyone had experience with luggage that has integrated scales? Was it worth the extra cost, or did you find yourself relying on an external scale anyway? Trying to decide which route is the most practical for avoiding overweight baggage fees!
